Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is commonly used in the treatment of infertility under three main conditions:
• Mild infertility issues
• Male factor infertility
• Clear and identifiable causes
IUI involves the selection and direct placement of live, motile sperm into the uterus near the fallopian tubes where fertilization occurs. This method allows a higher success rate of fertilization because many sperm can reach the fallopian tubes. It closely mimics natural conception and is suitable for couples facing unexplained infertility. It is also beneficial in cases where the female partner has cervical mucus issues, ovulation problems, or the male partner has poor sperm quality.
